Farm Visits
We would love to have you visit our
farm and fiber mill. When we started out, we visited farms of all sizes and asked
all kinds of questions not only about the animals but about barns, fencing, feed
and pastures. Growing up, Chris and Rose lived in a suburban neighborhood and
never had to care for more than a dog. We had to learn everything about ranching
and found alpaca people happy to share their knowledge. Whether you are experienced
with livestock or just starting out, come see us and the alpacas and we'll be
happy to share our experiences with you. To set up a time to visit, please send
and email info@riversidealpacas.com
or call Chris (315) 689-3550
Riverside Alpacas is located in Central New York State about 30 miles west of
Syracuse (population 156,000). We are on the Seneca River which part of the Erie
Canal system not too far from Skaneatlas where the first family was thinking of
moving. We are convenient to both Interstate Route 690 via Rt. 81 and 1-90 (the
NY State Thruway).

If you are planning
to come this way, there is a lot to see in Central NY. If you have college age
kids, you may want to visit Syracuse University or nearby Cornell University.
We are near the Finger Lakes Region - the heart of NY wine country - and the Watkins
Glenn area known not only for car racing but scenic glens. You can rent a houseboat
and cruise throughout NY state in the canal system! Let us know if you are thinking
of coming this way - we can suggest some interesting activities and events you
may want to attend in addition to visiting us. You could also check out http://mapquest.digitalcity.com/syracuse/attractions/

You can get here by plane, train or bus if you don't feel like driving. Syracuse's
Hancock International Airport is approximately 30 miles from Riverside. By train
or bus, you would get off at the Syracuse station and we can help arrange for
transportation from there. If you are coming by car, see the directions and map.
